विभीषणागमनम्
Vibhīṣaṇa’s Arrival and the Debate on Refuge
त्म्यंरावणेदृष्टवाविक्रमंचतथात्वयि ।युक्तमागमनंह्यत्रसदृशंतस्यबुद्धितः ।।6.17.58।।
dauṣṭyaṃ rāvaṇe dṛṣṭvā vikramaṃ ca tathā tvayi | yuktam āgamanaṃ hy atra sadṛśaṃ tasya buddhitaḥ || 6.17.58 ||
ရာဝဏ၏ အဓမ္မစိတ်နှင့် သင်၏ ဝီရသတ္တိကိုလည်း မြင်တွေ့သဖြင့်၊ သူ၏ ဤနေရာသို့ လာရောက်ခြင်းသည် သင့်လျော်ပေသည်—သူ၏ ဉာဏ်ပညာဖြင့် ဆုံးဖြတ်ချက်နှင့် ကိုက်ညီလျက်ရှိသည်။
"O king! People of unknown identity should enquire about him. (Vibheeshana)" said Mainda. Having reviewed the matter, I have another view. (in the matter)."
Dharma permits—and even commends—turning away from adharma (wickedness) and aligning with a righteous protector recognized for strength and virtue.
Mainda explains Vibhīṣaṇa’s motive: he has judged Rāvaṇa as wicked and Rāma as valorous, so he seeks Rāma’s side.
Truth-oriented judgment: the capacity to see moral reality (Rāvaṇa’s wrongdoing) and respond by choosing the better path.
