O Rama Having heard the slaying of my father incomparable in extreme ruthlessness, I decimated the Kshatriya race again and again out of fury as they were born and reborn. I conquered the entire earth. At the conclusion of the sacrifice I conferred it on the great soul Kasyapa of meritorious acts. Gifted with ascetic energy I have (now) made the Mahendra mountain my abode.

FAQs

Dharma is presented as a corrective arc: violent passion is not the final word; giving away conquest and embracing tapas reorients one toward righteousness.

This is a duplicated/overlapping transmission of the preceding content in the Southern Recension formatting, reiterating Paraśurāma’s acts and later withdrawal.

Spiritual discipline after conflict: tapas and relinquishment are highlighted as the means to re-establish inner and social order.
