The Severing of Kabandha’s Arms and the Opening of Dialogue
अस्य देवप्रभावस्य वसतो विजने वने।रक्षसाऽपहृता पत्नी यामिच्छन्ताविहागतौ।।।।
asya devaprabhāvasya vasato vijane vane | rakṣasā ’pahṛtā patnī yām icchantāv ihāgatau || 3.70.14 ||
ဒေဝတားတူ အာနုဘော်ရှိသော ရာမသည် ဤတောအိုတိတ်ဆိတ်ရာ၌ နေထိုင်စဉ် ရက္ခသတစ်ကောင်က သူ၏ ဇနီးကို ခိုးယူသွား하였다။ ထိုမိဖုရားကို ရှာဖွေရန် ကျွန်ုပ်တို့ ဤနေရာသို့ ရောက်လာခြင်းဖြစ်သည်။
He is equal to a god in prowess. While living in this desolate forest his wife has been carried off by a demon. We both came here searching for her.

Lakṣmaṇa explains to Kabandha that Sītā has been abducted by a rākṣasa and that they are searching for her.
