Rama’s Lament and Inquiry on Sita’s Disappearance

O Lakshmana! I desire no lordship of the gods or of the entire earth without that daughter of Janaka, that lady of golden complexion.
Dharma here is steadfast marital fidelity and right prioritization: Rama rejects even cosmic or earthly power if it is separated from righteous companionship with Sita.
Sita has been abducted; Rama, overwhelmed by grief, declares that kingship and glory are meaningless to him without her.
Single-minded devotion and integrity (ananya-bhakti to one’s rightful spouse), alongside detachment from worldly ambition.
