It widens the compassionate scope of śrāddha by affirming that piṇḍa offerings may be dedicated to departed persons regardless of the manner of death—cremated, uncremated, or victims of sudden/violent ends—so their pitṛ-related rites are not neglected.
While primarily ritual-focused, it supports bhakti in practice by treating ancestral service (pitṛ-sevā) as a dharmic act performed with reverence and dedication—an offering-minded discipline aligned with devotional purity and responsibility.
Kalpa (ritual procedure) is emphasized: the verse classifies eligibility for piṇḍa-dāna across different death circumstances, guiding correct śrāddha performance within dharma-śāstra style ritual categories.
