Sanatkumara (addressing Narada)
Vrata: Hari-vāsara vrata (abhojana on Hari’s dear day)
Primary Rasa: bhayanaka
Secondary Rasa: bhakti
It stresses vrata-dharma: on days especially प्रिय (dear) to Hari, restraint and devotion are paramount; violating the observance by eating is portrayed as a grave lapse that leads to prolonged suffering in Yama’s realms.
Bhakti is shown as disciplined love expressed through observance—honoring Hari’s sacred day with self-control. The verse frames indulgence on such a day as a sign of vimūḍha-citta (deluded mind) that obstructs devotion.
Kalpa (ritual discipline) is implicit: correct observance of vrata-days and the do’s/don’ts of bhojana (eating) as part of dharmic practice, reinforcing how ritual timing and conduct shape spiritual outcomes.
