Adhyaya 83 — The Slaying of Mahishasura’s Armies and the Final Death of Mahishasura
देव्युवाच गरज गरज क्षणं मूढ मधु यावत्पिबाम्यहम् ।
मया त्वयि हतेऽत्रैव गर्जिष्यन्त्याशु देवताः ॥
devyuvāca garja garja kṣaṇaṃ mūḍha madhu yāvat pibāmy aham / mayā tvayi hate 'traiva garjiṣyanty āśu devatāḥ
ဒေဝီက မိန့်တော်မူသည်—“အို မိုက်သူ၊ ငါ ဤပျားရည်ကို သောက်ပြီးမချင်း ခဏလောက် အော်ဟစ်လော့၊ အော်ဟစ်လော့။ ငါ့လက်ဖြင့် ဤနေရာ၌ သင် သတ်ခံရသောအခါ၊ နတ်တို့သည် မကြာမီ အောင်ပွဲအော်ဟစ်ကြလိမ့်မည်။”

The verse dramatizes the impermanence of boastful power: the asura’s roar is momentary, while the devas’ celebration follows the restoration of cosmic order. It teaches that adharma’s confidence is misplaced.
