Adhyaya 27 — Madālasa’s Instruction to King Alarka: Royal Ethics, Self-Conquest, and Statecraft

पूर्णेन्दुमालोक्य यथा प्रीतिमान् जायते नरः ।

एवं यत्र प्रजाः सर्वा निर्वत्ता स्तच्छशिव्रतम् ॥

Transliteration

pūrṇendum ālokya yathā prītimān jāyate naraḥ | evaṃ yatra prajāḥ sarvā nirvattās tac chaśi-vratam ||

Translation

လပြည့်ကို မြင်လျှင် လူသည် ဝမ်းမြောက်သကဲ့သို့၊ ပြည်သူအားလုံး စိတ်ချမ်းသာ၍ အခြေတည်ကောင်းမွန်နေသော နိုင်ငံတော်လည်း ထိုသို့ပင် ဖြစ်သည်။ ဤသည်ကို «လမင်းကဲ့သို့သော ဝရတ» (လမင်းပုံစံ အုပ်ချုပ်မှု) ဟု ခေါ်သည်။
