Adhyaya 23 — Ashvatara’s Vow for Madalasa and the Bestowal of Musical Science by Sarasvati
मया नृशंस्यं कर्तव्यं नोपकार्यपकारि च ।
या मदर्थे 'त्यजत प्राणांस्तदर्थे 'ल्पमिदं मम ॥
mayā nṛśaṃsyaṃ kartavyaṃ nopakāryapakāri ca / yā madarthe 'tyajat prāṇāṃs tadarthe 'lpam idaṃ mama
ငါသည် ကြမ်းတမ်းသော အမှုတစ်ရပ်ကိုပင် ပြုရမည်၊ ထိုအမှုသည် «ကူညီသူကို ကူညီခြင်း» မဟုတ်သကဲ့သို့ «မထိခိုက်သူကို ထိခိုက်ခြင်း» လည်း မဟုတ်; ငါ့အတွက် အသက်ကို စွန့်လွှတ်ခဲ့သော သူမနှင့် နှိုင်းယှဉ်လျှင် ငါ့၏ စွန့်လွှတ်မှုသည် အနည်းငယ်သာ ဖြစ်သည်။
