Draupadī’s Grief at Seeing the Heroes in Disguise (द्रौपदी-विषादः / वेष-परिभव-वर्णनम्)
सो<यं द्यूतप्रवादेन श्रिय: प्रत्यवरोपित: । तूष्णीमास्ते यथा मूढ: स्वानि कर्माणि चिन्तयन्
so ’yaṁ dyūtapravādena śriyaḥ pratyavaropitaḥ | tūṣṇīm āste yathā mūḍhaḥ svāni karmāṇi cintayan ||
«ထို့ကြောင့် အန်စာတုံးကစားပွဲကို အကြောင်းပြု၍ သူ၏ စည်းစိမ်နှင့် ဂုဏ်သိက္ခာကို ချွတ်ယူခံရသည်။ ယခုမူ မိုက်မဲသကဲ့သို့ တိတ်ဆိတ်စွာ ထိုင်နေပြီး မိမိ၏ လုပ်ရပ်များကိုသာ စဉ်းစားကာ မျက်နှာမူနေသည်»။
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse underscores the ethical consequence of adharma associated with gambling: a person can be brought low from prosperity and honor, and is left to confront the results of his own actions in silent remorse.
Vaiśampāyana describes a figure who, due to the dice-game episode, has lost his former fortune and standing; he now sits quietly, stunned and reflective, thinking over what he has done.
