निगृहान्ते च युद्धेषु मोक्ष्यन्ते चैव सैनिकै: । प्राय: देखा जाता है कि प्रधान पुरुष लड़ते-लड़ते शत्रुओंकी सेनाको व्याकुल कर देते हैं। फिर उसी युद्धमें वे बंदी बना लिये जाते हैं और साधारण सैनिकोंकी सहायतासे छूट भी जाते हैं
nigṛhṇanti ca yuddheṣu mokṣyante caiva sainikaiḥ | prāyo dṛśyate yathā pradhānāḥ puruṣā yudhyamānāḥ śatrūṇāṃ senāṃ vyākulayanti | punaḥ tasminn eva yuddhe te bandī-kṛtā bhavanti sādhāraṇa-sainika-sahāyatayā ca mucyante |
ကာဏ္ဏက ပြောသည်– «စစ်ပွဲများတွင် ခေါင်းဆောင်ကြီးများသည် ရန်သူကို ပြင်းထန်စွာ ဖိအားပေးကာ သူတို့၏တပ်တန်းကို ရှုပ်ထွေးပျက်ပြားစေတတ်သည်။ သို့သော် ထိုတူညီသောတိုက်ပွဲအတွင်းပင် ထိုခေါင်းဆောင်များကို ဖမ်းဆီး၍ အကျဉ်းသားဖြစ်စေတတ်ကြပြီး၊ နောက်တဖန် သာမန်စစ်သားတို့၏ အကူအညီဖြင့် ပြန်လည်လွတ်မြောက်လာကြသည်ဟု မကြာခဏ တွေ့ရသည်»။
