दैवं तु न मया शक्यं कर्म कर्तु कथंचन । मैं पुरुषार्थसे जितना हो सकता है, उतना संधि-स्थापनके लिये अधिक-से-अधिक प्रयत्न करूँगा; परंतु प्रारब्धके विधानको किसी प्रकार भी टाल देना या बदल देना मेरे लिये सम्भव नहीं है
daivaṃ tu na mayā śakyaṃ karma kartuṃ kathaṃcana |
အာဇုနက ပြောသည်– «သို့သော် ကံကြမ္မာက သတ်မှတ်ထားသည့်အရာကို ငါသည် မည်သို့မျှ လုပ်ဆောင်၍ မရနိုင်။ ငြိမ်းချမ်းရေးနှင့် ပြန်လည်သင့်မြတ်ရေးကို တည်ထောင်ရန် လူ့ကြိုးပမ်းအားထုတ်မှုဖြင့် ငါတတ်နိုင်သမျှ အပြည့်အဝ ကြိုးစားမည်။ သို့ရာတွင် ကံကြမ္မာ၏ အမိန့်—ပရာရဗ္ဓ (prārabdha)—ကို ရှောင်လွှဲခြင်း သို့မဟုတ် ပြောင်းလဲခြင်းသည် ငါ့အာဏာအတွင်း မရှိ။»
