अध्याय २९ — वासुदेव–संजय संवादः

त्वमेव न: प्रियतमो5सि दूत इहागच्छेद्‌ विदुरो वा द्वितीय: । अभीक्षणदृष्टोडसि पुरा हि नस्त्वं धनंजयस्यात्मसम: सखासि,संजय! तुम्हीं हमारे अत्यन्त प्रिय हो। जान पड़ता है, दूसरे विदुरजी ही (दूत बनकर) यहाँ आ गये हैं। पहले भी तुम हमसे बारंबार मिलते रहे हो और धनंजयके तो तुम अपने आत्माके समान प्रिय सखा हो

tvam eva naḥ priyatamo 'si dūta ihāgacched viduro vā dvitīyaḥ | abhīkṣṇa-dṛṣṭo 'si purā hi nas tvaṃ dhanañjayasya ātma-samaḥ sakhāsi, saṃjaya ||

ယုဓိဋ္ဌိရက ပြောသည်– «စဉ္ဇယ၊ ငါတို့အတွက် အချစ်ဆုံး သံတမန်သည် သင်ပင်ဖြစ်သည်။ ဗိဒုရကိုယ်တိုင်က ဒုတိယသံတမန်အဖြစ် ဒီကို ရောက်လာသကဲ့သို့ပင် ထင်ရသည်။ အကြောင်းမူကား ယခင်ကလည်း သင်သည် ငါတို့နှင့် မကြာခဏ တွေ့ဆုံခဲ့ပြီး၊ ဓနဉ္ဇယ (အာర్జုန) အတွက်တော့ သင်သည် မိမိအသက်ဝိညာဉ်ကဲ့သို့ ချစ်ခင်ရသော မိတ်ဆွေဖြစ်သည်»။
