Āśrama-dharma: Duties of the Four Life-Stages (आश्रमधर्मः)
प्रजापतिर्हि वर्णानां दासं शूद्रमकल्पयत् । तस्माच्छुद्रस्य वर्णानां परिचर्या विधीयते
prajāpatir hi varṇānāṃ dāsaṃ śūdram akalpayat | tasmāc chūdrasya varṇānāṃ paricaryā vidhīyate ||
ဘီရှ္မက ပြောသည်– «ပရာဇာပတိသည် ဝဏ္ဏ (varṇa) များအတွက် ရှူဒြ (Śūdra) ကို အမှုထမ်းအဖြစ် ဖန်ဆင်းခဲ့သည်။ ထို့ကြောင့် ရှူဒြအတွက် အခြားဝဏ္ဏများကို အမှုထမ်း၍ စောင့်ရှောက်ခြင်းသည် သတ်မှတ်ထားသော တာဝန် (dharma) ဖြစ်သည်»။
