स तेषां गुणसंघात: शरीरं भरतर्षभ | सततं हि प्रलीयन्ते गुणास्ते प्रभवन्ति च,भरतश्रेष्ठ! प्राणियोंका शरीर उन्हीं पाँचों महाभूतोंका कार्यसमूह है। वे कार्यरूपमें परिणत भूतगण सदा लीन होते और प्रकट होते रहते हैं

sa teṣāṁ guṇasaṅghātaḥ śarīraṁ bharatarṣabha | satataṁ hi pralīyante guṇās te prabhavanti ca ||

ဘီရှ္မက မိန့်ကြားသည်— “ဘာရတမျိုး၏ နွားထီးတော်မူသောသူရေ၊ ကိုယ်ခန္ဓာသည် ထိုအင်္ဂါရပ်များ၏ ပေါင်းစည်းထားသော အစုအဝေးသာ ဖြစ်၏။ အမှန်တကယ်ပင် ထိုအင်္ဂါရပ်တို့သည် အစဉ်အမြဲ လျောကျလျက်ရှိပြီး အစဉ်အမြဲ ပြန်လည်ပေါ်ထွန်းလျက်ရှိ၏။ ထို့ကြောင့် ကိုယ်ခန္ဓာရှိခြင်းကို ဖွဲ့စည်းခြင်းနှင့် ပျက်လျောခြင်း၏ မရပ်မနား လှုပ်ရှားမှုဟု သိမြင်ကာ ကိုယ်ကို မပြောင်းလဲသော ‘အတ္တ’ ဟု မမှားယွင်းစွာ မယူဆသင့်။”
