Varṇa-lakṣaṇa and Ātma-saṃyama (Marks of Social Conduct and Self-Restraint) | वर्णलक्षणम् एवं आत्मसंयमः
पुलाका इव धान्येषु पुत्तिका इव पक्षिषु । तद्विधास्ते मनुष्याणां येषां धर्मो न कारणम्
pulākā iva dhānyeṣu puttikā iva pakṣiṣu | tadvidhās te manuṣyāṇāṃ yeṣāṃ dharmo na kāraṇam ||
ဘီရှ္မက ပြောသည်– စပါးအုပ်ထဲက အတွင်းဗလာ အကျိုးမဲ့ အပင်တစ်ပင်ကဲ့သို့လည်းကောင်း၊ အတောင်ပါသတ္တဝါတို့အကြားရှိ ခြင်တစ်ကောင်ကဲ့သို့လည်းကောင်း—ဓမ္မကို ရည်ရွယ်ချက်မထားသူတို့သည် လူ့လောကအတွင်း ထိုသို့ပင် အရေးမပါသူများ ဖြစ်ကြ၏။
