Tapas, Tīrtha, and Moral Rehabilitation (Śānti-parva 148)
तस्माद् धर्म चरिष्यामि धर्मो हि परमा गति: । दृष्टो धर्मो हि धर्मिछे यादृशो विहगोत्तमे
tasmād dharma cariṣyāmi dharmo hi paramā gatiḥ | dṛṣṭo dharmo hi dharmiṣṭhe yādṛśo vihagottame ||
ထို့ကြောင့် ငါသည် ဓမ္မကို ကျင့်သုံးမည်။ အကြောင်းမူကား ဓမ္မတစ်ခုတည်းသာ အမြင့်ဆုံးသော အားကိုးရာနှင့် နောက်ဆုံးပန်းတိုင် ဖြစ်သည်။ အလွန်ဓမ္မရှိသော ငှက်အကောင်းဆုံး၌ မြင်တွေ့ရသော တရားသဘောအတိုင်း—ကိုယ်ခန္ဓာကိုတောင် စွန့်လွှတ်၍ ဧည့်ဝတ်ပြုခြင်း၏ တောက်ပသော စံနမူနာကို ငါ့ရှေ့တွင် ထူထောင်ပြသသွားသဖြင့်—ထိုဓမ္မကိုပင် ငါလည်း လိုက်နာလိုသည်။
