Vyāghra–Gomāyu Saṃvāda (व्याघ्रगोमायु संवाद) — Testing Character Beneath Appearances

(पर्णाहार: कदाचिच्च नियमव्रतवानपि । कदाचिदुदकेनापि वर्तयन्ननुयन्त्रित: ।।

Bhīṣma uvāca — parṇāhāraḥ kadācic ca niyamavratavān api | kadācid udakena api vartayann anuyantritaḥ || śmaśāne tasya cāvāso gomāyoḥ sammato 'bhavat | janmabhūmy-anurodhāc ca nānyāvāsam arocayat ||

ဘီရှ္မက မိန့်တော်မူသည်— ဝ్రတနှင့် နိယမတို့ကို တည်ကြည်စွာ လိုက်နာသော်လည်း တခါတရံ အရွက်ကိုသာ ဝါးစား၍ နေတတ်ပြီး တခါတရံ ရေကိုသာ သောက်ကာ အသက်ရှင်တတ်၏။ သူ၏ဘဝသည် စည်းကမ်းထိန်းချုပ်မှုအောက်တွင် ချည်နှောင်ထားသကဲ့သို့ ဖြစ်လာ၏။ ထိုမြေခွေး၏ နေရာသည် သင်္ချိုင်းမြေ၌ ဖြစ်လာပြီး၊ မွေးဖွားရာမြေဖြစ်သောကြောင့် ထိုနေရာကိုပင် နှစ်သက်ကာ အခြားနေရာတွင် နေရန် စိတ်မဝင်စားခဲ့ပေ။
