द्रवमाणं तु तत् सैन्यं दृष्टवा विगतचेतनम् । मध्यस्थतां च पार्थस्य धर्मपुत्रो5ब्रवीदिदम्,उन्होंने अपनी उस सेनाको जब अचेत होकर भागती और दुन्तीपुत्र अर्जुनको तटस्थभावसे खड़ा देखा, तब इस प्रकार कहा--
sañjaya uvāca | dravamāṇaṃ tu tat sainyaṃ dṛṣṭvā vigatacetanaṃ | madhyasthatāṃ ca pārthasya dharmaputro 'bravīd idam ||
သဉ္ဇယက ပြော၏— မိမိတပ်တော်သည် စိတ်ပျက်လန့်ဖျား၍ သတိလွတ်သကဲ့သို့ ထွက်ပြေးနေသည်ကို မြင်ပြီး၊ ပाण्डု၏သား ပါရ္ထ (အာర్జုန) သည် အလယ်အလတ်သဘောဖြင့် သီးခြားရပ်နေသည်ကို တွေ့သောအခါ၊ ဓမ္မပုတ্ৰ (ယုဓိဋ္ဌိရ) သည် ဤစကားကို ပြောလေ၏။
संजय उवाच

Sañjaya reports that the army is fleeing in confusion, and Arjuna is standing aside in a neutral posture; seeing this, Yudhiṣṭhira begins to speak, setting up the next lines of dialogue and decision-making.
