अनुद्वेगकरं वाक्यं सत्यं प्रियहितं च यत्‌ ।४ स्वाध्याया भ्यसनं चैव वाड्मयं तप उच्यते

Transliteration

arjuna uvāca | anudvegakaraṁ vākyaṁ satyaṁ priyahitaṁ ca yat | svādhyāyābhyasanaṁ caiva vāṅmayaṁ tapa ucyate ||

Translation

သူတစ်ပါးကို မနှောင့်ယှက်စေသော စကား—အမှန်တရားဖြစ်၍ နှစ်သက်ဖွယ်ကောင်းကာ အကျိုးရှိသော စကား—နှင့် စွဲမြဲစွာ ဆွာဓျာယ (ကိုယ်တိုင်လေ့လာဖတ်ရှုခြင်း) ကို လေ့ကျင့်ခြင်းတို့ကို ဝါဏီဆိုင်ရာ တပ (စကားအာစတီ) ဟု ကြေညာသည်။
