Educational Q&A

This verse is a colophon rather than a doctrinal statement: it frames the episode within the Aśvamedha context, implicitly highlighting rājadharma—how royal authority is asserted through ritual obligation, disciplined force, and the maintenance of order during the sacrificial horse’s sanctioned passage.

The chapter concludes an episode in which the sacrificial horse is pursued/escorted (aśvānusaraṇa) and the Māgadhas are defeated (māgadhaparājaya). The line functions as an editorial closure, identifying the parva, sub-section, and the chapter number.
