On Those Worthy of Honor and Salutation
ब्राह्म॒ण्यं यो न जानीते धनं लब्ध्वेव दुर्लभम् । वह पापियोंसे भी बढ़कर अत्यन्त पापी और उनमें भी अधम ही है, जो दुर्लभ धनकी भाँति ब्राह्मणत्वको पाकर भी उसके महत्त्वको नहीं समझता है
brāhmaṇyaṁ yo na jānīte dhanaṁ labdhveva durlabham | sa pāpīyo 'pi pāpīyān atyanta-pāpī ca teṣv api adhamaḥ ||
မတင်္ဂက ဆိုသည်— «ဗြာဟ္မဏဖြစ်ခြင်း၏ အမှန်တကယ်တန်ဖိုးကို မသိမမြင်သူသည်၊ ရှားပါးသော ရတနာတစ်ပါးကို ရရှိသကဲ့သို့ ထိုအခွင့်အရေးကို ရရှိထားသော်လည်း၊ အပြစ်ရှိသူတို့ထက်ပင် ဆိုးရွား၍ အလွန်အမင်း အပြစ်ကြီးကာ သူတို့အတွင်း၌ပင် အနိမ့်ဆုံးဖြစ်၏။ အလွန်ခက်ခဲစွာ ရသော ဝိညာဉ်ရေး အခွင့်ထူးကို ကိုင်ဆောင်ပြီးလည်း ၎င်း၏ အဓိပ္ပါယ်ကို မနားလည်ခြင်းသည် စာရိတ္တကျဆုံးမှုကြီးတစ်ရပ် ဖြစ်သည်။»
