Suta Goswami (narrating to the sages at Naimisharanya)
It links outer worship to inner fitness: without yogyāyogya-viveka, the sādhaka’s mind falls into daurmanasya, weakening steadiness in Linga-pūjā and devotion to Pati (Shiva).
By implication, Shiva as Pati is the stabilizing consciousness; when the pashu (individual soul) abandons discernment and acts by impulse, it experiences mental bondage—showing the need to align the mind with Shiva-tattva through clarity and discipline.
Pāśupata-oriented viveka (discriminative awareness) and restraint: do not accept vows, acts, or offerings impulsively; choose what is yogya for sādhana to prevent inner dejection and maintain tapas and pūjā-niyama.
