Sage Parāśara (narrating to Maitreya)
Speaker: Parasara
Teaching: Historical
Quality: authoritative
Avatara: Krishna
Purpose: Krishna’s taking of the Pārijāta precipitates Indra’s mobilization, allowing Hari to display His lordship over the assembled devas.
Leela: Yuddha
Dharma Restored: Proper orientation of divine power under Hari’s sovereignty
Vishnu Form: Hari
It shows how divine sovereignty is sustained not only by power but by right counsel and resolve—Śacī functions as the catalyst that restores Indra’s determination to protect cosmic order.
Parāśara presents a chain of transmission—guards report “as said” (yathoditam), emphasizing accuracy in counsel and how decisions in the deva realm arise from reliable testimony.
Even in deva-centered episodes, the Purāṇa frames governance and victory as ultimately aligned with Vishnu’s supreme order—Indra’s authority is functional and contingent within the higher sovereignty of the Supreme Reality.
