Varaha Purana 168.2 — Adhyaya 168, Shloka 2

The Merit of Seeing Mathurā’s Guardian-Deity and a Catalog of Mathurā’s Sacred Geography

श्रीवराह उवाच ॥ दृष्ट्वा भूतपतिं देवं वरदं पापनाशनम् ॥ तस्य दर्शनमात्रेण मथुरायां फलं भवेत् ॥

śrīvarāha uvāca || dṛṣṭvā bhūtapatiṃ devaṃ varadaṃ pāpanāśanam || tasya darśanamātreṇa mathurāyāṃ phalaṃ bhavet ||

Śrī Varāha bersabda: “Setelah menatap Tuhan, Penguasa segala makhluk—Pemberi anugerah dan Pemusnah dosa—maka dengan darśana-Nya semata-mata, pahala kebajikan yang diperoleh di Mathurā pun tercapai.”
