‘Knowledge’—so (it is said)—is the direct realization (sākṣātkāra) as an immediate experience that, by means of restraint of body and senses, devotion to the true guru, and (the disciplines of) hearing, reflection, and deep contemplation, whatever is of the nature of seer and seen is the inner indweller of all, equal in all, unchanging like objects such as pot and cloth, and that in all modifications nothing whatsoever exists apart from consciousness.

Jñāna (ātma-brahma-sākṣātkāra); dṛg-dṛśya-viveka; caitanya as the substratum of all vikārasMahavakya: Supports ‘prajñānaṃ brahma’ (Consciousness is Brahman) by asserting nothing exists apart from caitanya; also aligns with ‘tat tvam asi’ via the inner indweller equal in all.AtharvaChandas: Prose
