Mundaka

समाने वृक्षे पुरुषो निमग्नोऽनिशया शोचति मुह्यमानः । जुष्टं यदा पश्यत्यन्यमीशमस्य महिमानमिति वीतशोकः ॥ २॥

समाने । वृक्षे । पुरुषः । निमग्नः । अनिशया । शोचति । मुह्यमानः । जुष्टम् । यदा । पश्यति । अन्यम् । ईशम् । अस्य । महिमानम् । इति । वीत-शोकः ॥ २ ॥

samāne vṛkṣe puruṣo nimagno 'niśayā śocati muhyamānaḥ | juṣṭaṃ yadā paśyaty anyam īśam asya mahimānam iti vītaśokaḥ || 2 ||

Pada pohon yang sama, insan tenggelam (dalam keterikatan) lalu berdukacita, terkeliru oleh rasa tidak berdaya. Namun apabila ia melihat Yang lain—Tuhan yang disembah—serta kemuliaan-Nya, ia bebas daripada duka.

On the same tree the person, sunk (in attachment), grieves, being deluded by helplessness. But when he sees the other— the Lord, worshipped (and) His greatness—he becomes free from sorrow.
