eṣa rudro mahādevaḥ kaparddī cāgraṇīrharaḥ | ādityo bhagavānsūryo nīlagrīvo vilohitaḥ

Dadhīci
Tirtha: Vastrāpatha-kṣetra
Type: kshetra
Listener: Dakṣa (and sages)
Scene: A litany of identifications: Rudra, Mahādeva, Kapardī, Hara—also Āditya/Sūrya—blue-necked and ruddy; the deity appears as a composite of solar brilliance and ascetic Śaiva marks.
The divine is one yet manifests through many names and cosmic functions; Śiva is praised as both Rudra and the solar Āditya.
Vastrāpathakṣetra in Prabhāsa is the mahatmya context where Śiva’s universal identifications are proclaimed to inspire devotion.
No specific rite is prescribed; the verse functions as stuti (praise) through sacred names.
