वामन उवाच । यदि तुष्टो महादेव यदि देयो वरो मम । तदाऽत्र लिंगे स्थातव्यमस्तु दिव्यं पुरो मम
vāmana uvāca | yadi tuṣṭo mahādeva yadi deyo varo mama | tadā'tra liṃge sthātavyamastu divyaṃ puro mama
Vāmana berkata: “Jika Engkau berkenan, wahai Mahādeva, dan jika suatu anugerah hendak diberikan kepadaku—maka bersemayamlah di sini dalam liṅga ini, sebagai kehadiran ilahi di hadapan kotaku.”
