evaṃ śapto mayā brahmanrāvaṇo lokarāvaṇaḥ | arcitaṃ kevalaṃ liṃgaṃ vinā tena mahātmanā
Demikianlah, wahai Brahmana, Rāvaṇa—penggoncang dan penyiksa segala dunia—telah aku kutuk. Namun tokoh agung itu hanya memuja liṅga semata-mata, tanpa pīṭhikā/alas yang sepatutnya menyertainya.
