Skanda Purana — Mahesvara Khanda, Shloka 121

पतितानां च संसारे दैवाद्बुद्धिः प्रजायते । गुणत्रयमयी विप्रास्तासुतास्त्विह योनिषु

patitānāṃ ca saṃsāre daivādbuddhiḥ prajāyate | guṇatrayamayī viprāstāsutāstviha yoniṣu

Bagi mereka yang telah jatuh ke dalam saṃsāra, dengan ketentuan Ilahi timbul suatu (baharu) pengertian. Dan, wahai para brāhmaṇa, zuriat mereka di sini dalam pelbagai rahim terbentuk menurut tiga guṇa.
