Skanda Purana — Mahesvara Khanda, Shloka 62

सविस्मयोऽभूदथ तद्विदित्वा उद्दालको ज्ञानवतां वरिष्ठः । शिवप्रभावं मनसा विचिंत्य ज्ञानात्परं बोधमवाप शांतः

savismayo'bhūdatha tadviditvā uddālako jñānavatāṃ variṣṭhaḥ | śivaprabhāvaṃ manasā viciṃtya jñānātparaṃ bodhamavāpa śāṃtaḥ

Setelah memahami hal itu, Uddālaka—yang terunggul antara para bijaksana—dipenuhi rasa takjub. Merenungi keagungan Śiva dalam hati, beliau mencapai kesedaran melampaui pengetahuan semata, lalu menjadi tenteram.
