Śiva (Śaṃbhu/Mahādeva) (deduced from immediate context of Śaṃbhu speaking in this passage)
Tirtha: Kedāra
Type: kshetra
Scene: The gods, having put Desire in the lead, are shown slipping from their stations, faces clouded with grief, their radiance dimmed.
When desire becomes the leader of one’s choices, even the mighty lose stability; restraint protects one’s dharmic position.
The passage belongs to the Kedārakhaṇḍa, associated with the Kedāra/Kedarnath sacred landscape, though this verse itself gives a moral teaching rather than a site-description.
No explicit ritual is prescribed here; it teaches ethical discipline (control of desire).
