तपसा परमोग्रेण चरंती चारुहासिनी । मदनो यत्र दग्धश्च रुद्रेण च महात्मना । तत्रैव वेदिं कृत्वा च तस्योपरि सुसंस्थिता
tapasā paramogreṇa caraṃtī cāruhāsinī | madano yatra dagdhaśca rudreṇa ca mahātmanā | tatraiva vediṃ kṛtvā ca tasyopari susaṃsthitā
Dengan tapa yang amat keras dan tertinggi, sang gadis yang manis senyum itu mengembara hingga sampai ke tempat Madana (Kāma) pernah dibakar oleh Rudra yang berhati agung. Di situ juga dia mendirikan sebuah vedi (altar suci) lalu duduk teguh di atasnya.
