ऋषय ऊचुः । पार्वत्याधिकृतं सर्वं मदनानयनं प्रति । संबरेण हृतातन्वी मदनस्य प्रिया सती । अत ऊर्ध्वं तदा सूत किं जातं तत्र वर्ण्यताम्

ṛṣaya ūcuḥ | pārvatyādhikṛtaṃ sarvaṃ madanānayanaṃ prati | saṃbareṇa hṛtātanvī madanasya priyā satī | ata ūrdhvaṃ tadā sūta kiṃ jātaṃ tatra varṇyatām

Para resi berkata: “Segala yang dilakukan oleh Pārvatī untuk menghadirkan Madana telah pun diceritakan. Kekasih Madana yang ramping lagi suci itu telah dilarikan oleh Śaṃbara. Maka selepas itu, wahai Sūta, apakah yang terjadi? Mohon jelaskan.”
