kanyā sadā duḥkhakarī nṛṇāṃ pate strīṇāṃ tathā śokakarī mahāmate | tasmādvimṛśya suciraṃ svayameva buddhyā yathā hitaṃ śailapate taducyatām
“Anak perempuan,” wahai tuan di antara manusia, “sentiasa menjadi punca kesusahan; dan bagi kaum wanita juga, ia menjadi sebab dukacita, wahai yang berhati besar. Maka, wahai penguasa gunung-ganang, renungilah lama dengan kebijaksanaanmu sendiri, lalu ucapkanlah apa yang benar-benar membawa manfaat.”
