इंद्र उवाच । केनोपायेन साध्योऽयं वृत्रो दैत्यवरो महान् । त्चछीघ्रं कथ्यतां शंभो येन मे विजयो भवेत्
iṃdra uvāca | kenopāyena sādhyo'yaṃ vṛtro daityavaro mahān | tcachīghraṃ kathyatāṃ śaṃbho yena me vijayo bhavet
Indra berkata: “Dengan jalan apakah Vṛtra yang agung itu—yang terunggul antara kaum Daitya—dapat ditewaskan? Katakanlah segera, wahai Śambhu, agar kemenangan menjadi milikku.”
Indra
Tirtha: Kedāra (instruction-giving kshetra)
Type: kshetra
Listener: Śambhu (Śiva)
Scene: Indra, anxious yet reverent, asks Śambhu for the swift means to defeat Vṛtra; the scene centers on supplication and the expectancy of divine instruction.
In crisis, even the mighty should seek divine counsel and right means rather than relying on pride.
The Kedāra setting (Kedārakhaṇḍa) frames the dialogue, though the verse itself is a direct question.
None directly; it is a request for the correct upāya (method), which is answered in subsequent verses.
