वामः कामो यतो भद्रे यस्मिन्नुपनिबद्ध्यते । स चात्र नैव बध्नाति तद्वयं कि प्रकुर्महे
vāmaḥ kāmo yato bhadre yasminnupanibaddhyate | sa cātra naiva badhnāti tadvayaṃ ki prakurmahe
Wahai tuan puteri yang mulia, cinta menjadi songsang apabila melekat pada yang tidak layak; dan di sini ia langsung tidak mengikatku. Maka apakah yang patut kita lakukan?
