Skanda Purana — Mahesvara Khanda, Shloka 169

सत्यं वाच्यं नित्यमैत्रेण भाव्यं कार्यं त्याज्यं नित्यमायासकारि । लोकेऽमुष्मिन्यद्दिनं स्यात्तथास्मिन्नात्मा योगे येजनीयो गभीरैः

satyaṃ vācyaṃ nityamaitreṇa bhāvyaṃ kāryaṃ tyājyaṃ nityamāyāsakāri | loke'muṣminyaddinaṃ syāttathāsminnātmā yoge yejanīyo gabhīraiḥ

Kebenaran hendaklah sentiasa diucapkan; sifat persahabatan hendaklah sentiasa dipupuk; dan perbuatan yang terus-menerus menimbulkan letih serta gelisah hendaklah ditinggalkan. Sebagaimana hari berlalu di dunia ini, demikianlah ia membentuk alam kemudian—maka diri batin hendaklah dipuja melalui yoga yang mendalam oleh para bijaksana.
