Skanda Purana — Mahesvara Khanda, Shloka 194

वर्णाश्रमप्रतिष्ठा च यज्ञस्त्रेतासु चोच्यते । सदाशिवध्यानमयं त्यक्त्वा मोक्षमचेतनाः

varṇāśramapratiṣṭhā ca yajñastretāsu cocyate | sadāśivadhyānamayaṃ tyaktvā mokṣamacetanāḥ

Pada zaman Tretā dikatakan adanya peneguhan varṇa dan āśrama serta pelaksanaan yajña; namun setelah meninggalkan penyerapan dalam meditasi kepada Sadāśiva, mereka yang kurang kebijaksanaan mencari mokṣa melalui jalan lain.
