महत्तत्त्वाद्विकुर्वाणादहंतत्त्वं व्यजायत । त्रिधा तन्मुनिभिः प्रोक्तं सत्त्वरासतामसम्
mahattattvādvikurvāṇādahaṃtattvaṃ vyajāyata | tridhā tanmunibhiḥ proktaṃ sattvarāsatāmasam
“Daripada Mahat yang sedang berubah, lahirlah Ahaṃtattva, prinsip ‘ke-aku-an’. Para muni menyatakan ia tiga serangkai: sāttvika, rājasa dan tāmasa.”
Nārada
Scene: Mahat transforms like a luminous lotus unfolding; from it emerges a central ‘I’-knot (ahaṃkāra) that splits into three streams colored white (sattva), red (rajas), and dark (tamas), flowing outward to generate further principles.
Inner experience (the sense of ‘I’) is conditioned by the three guṇas; spiritual discipline aims to refine this sense toward sāttvika clarity.
