योषित्सुवध्योऽसि रणं विभुंच शुंभाऽशुभ स्वल्पतरैरहोभिः । मत्तोर्हसि त्वं न वृथैव मूढ ततोऽपयातः स च शंभदानवः
yoṣitsuvadhyo'si raṇaṃ vibhuṃca śuṃbhā'śubha svalpatarairahobhiḥ | mattorhasi tvaṃ na vṛthaiva mūḍha tato'payātaḥ sa ca śaṃbhadānavaḥ
“Wahai Shumbha yang malang, kamu layak dibunuh oleh seorang wanita; dan kehebatanmu dalam pertempuran akan berakhir dalam beberapa hari sahaja. Kamu bukan tandingan aku—janganlah berusaha dengan sia-sia, wahai si bodoh.” Berkata demikian, Danava Shumbha itu pun berundur.
