Sūta (Lomaharṣaṇa) narrating to the sages (deduced from Māheśvarakhaṇḍa context)
Tirtha: Puṣkara
Type: kshetra
Scene: Diti seated in austerity near Puṣkara’s sacred waters, dawn light on the lake, lotuses and ghats; Indra in the sky or at a distance, vigilant with vajra, watching the progress of her vow.
Steady observance of niyama (disciplined vow) strengthens inner focus and makes one’s spiritual effort consequential even to the gods.
Puṣkara is highlighted as the place where the vow is undertaken and sustained with concentration.
A continued niyama/vow-observance (vrata) with mental composure (samādhi-like steadiness) is implied.
