Skanda Purana — Mahesvara Khanda, Shloka 60

समित्पुष्पकुशप्रायैः साधनैर्यद्यचेतनैः । क्रियते तत्तथा भावि कार्यं कारणवन्नृणाम्

samitpuṣpakuśaprāyaiḥ sādhanairyadyacetanaiḥ | kriyate tattathā bhāvi kāryaṃ kāraṇavannṛṇām

Jika suatu perbuatan dilakukan dengan sarana yang kebanyakannya hanya kayu api, bunga, dan rumput kuśa—benda yang tiada kesedaran—maka hasil bagi manusia pun akan muncul sepadan, seperti akibat yang bergantung pada sebabnya.
