Praṇava-Māhātmya and the Twofold Mantra (Sūkṣma–Sthūla) in Śaiva Sādhanā
पितृलोकं समासाद्यक्रमान्मुक्तो भवेन्मृतः । क्रियायुक्तदशभ्यश्च तपोयुक्तो विशिष्यते
pitṛlokaṃ samāsādyakramānmukto bhavenmṛtaḥ | kriyāyuktadaśabhyaśca tapoyukto viśiṣyate
Setelah mencapai Pitṛloka, alam para leluhur, si yang wafat akan memperoleh pembebasan menurut tertib waktunya. Dan di antara sepuluh orang yang tekun pada amalan ritual, orang yang memiliki tapas (askese) dipandang lebih unggul.

Significance: Affirms a graded post-mortem ascent culminating in liberation; encourages Śiva-oriented dharma (kriyā and tapas) as supports for release from bondage.
Cosmic Event: Post-mortem transit to Pitṛloka; karmic maturation (kramāt) leading toward mukti.
It teaches that post-death progress can culminate in liberation over time, and that inner purification through tapas is spiritually higher than ritual performance alone.
Linga-worship is a sacred kriyā, but this verse emphasizes that such worship bears its highest fruit when joined with tapas—self-discipline, restraint, and inward devotion to Shiva as Pati who grants moksha.
Go beyond external rites by adding tapas: disciplined japa of the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya), vrata-based self-restraint, and steady meditation alongside prescribed Shaiva observances.
