Pārthiva-pratimā Pūjā-vidhāna — Procedure for Worship of an Earthen Icon
Suta Goswami (narrating Shiva’s worship-instructions to the sages of Naimisharanya)
Tattva Level: pashu
Significance: Links intensive worship (sahasra-pūjā) and satya (truthfulness) to attainment of higher loka (Satyaloka), presenting graded fruits for disciplined devotees.
It teaches that Shiva-worship becomes spiritually potent when grounded in satya (truthfulness) and sustained devotion; such disciplined worship yields exalted spiritual ascent (here expressed as attainment of Satyaloka).
The verse links inner virtue (satya) with outer, saguna practice—structured worship and correct ritual proportions—showing that Linga-worship is both a devotional form and a regulated sādhana leading the devotee upward toward higher realms and, ultimately, Shiva’s grace.
It recommends sahasra-pūjā (a thousand offerings/acts of worship) and attention to proper measurement in the worship setup (twelve-aṅgula length with proportionate breadth), implying careful, repeatable ritual discipline alongside truthful conduct.
