The verse teaches that suffering such as disease can be calmed through Śiva-oriented discipline: worship (yajña/pujā) joined with dāna and brahmana-bhojana. In Shaiva Siddhānta terms, such right action offered to Pati (Śiva) reduces the binding weight of pāśa (affliction and karmic obstruction) and restores harmony.
The instruction is a practical regimen of Saguna-Śiva worship—approaching Śiva through prescribed times and outward acts (pujā, offerings, feeding devotees/Brāhmaṇas). Such Linga-centered devotion purifies the worshipper and makes the mind fit for deeper contemplation of Śiva beyond form.
It suggests Tuesday worship for relief from illness, combined with annadāna—feeding Brāhmaṇas with a specified meal (māṣa, mudga, and measured grains). The takeaway practice is disciplined Śiva-pujā joined to charitable feeding as an expiatory and pacifying observance.
