The verse highlights anugraha (divine grace): the Goddess, aligned with Shiva’s compassionate power (śakti), invites the devotee to state his intention, showing that sincere devotion becomes a channel for blessings that support dharma and spiritual progress.
In Saguna worship, grace is experienced personally through Shiva and Shakti as approachable, responsive divinities. The Goddess granting boons reflects how devotion to Shiva’s manifest form (including Linga worship) is met with tangible guidance and blessings.
A practical takeaway is sankalpa with bhakti: approach Shiva/Devi with a clear, dharmic intention, supported by japa of the Panchakshara mantra (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) and simple puja offerings, seeking grace rather than mere worldly gain.
