It highlights disciplined preparation for sacred action (yajña), showing that dharmic effort and right arrangement of a holy space are foundational—yet, in Shaiva understanding, ritual becomes truly fruitful when oriented toward Shiva as the supreme Pati.
By emphasizing yajña-vidhi (proper sacrificial procedure), the verse sets the ritual backdrop in which Shaiva worship often culminates in offering to Shiva—frequently through Linga-pūjā—transforming external rite into devotion toward Saguna Shiva.
The takeaway is careful sanctification of the worship space and intentional preparation before any rite; in Shaiva practice this pairs well with beginning the ritual by mentally invoking Shiva and reciting the Panchakshara mantra, “Om Namaḥ Śivāya.”
