दुन्दुभिनिर्ह्रादनिर्णयः / Dundubhinirhrāda’s Stratagem: Targeting the Brāhmaṇas
देवैश्च घातितो वीरो हिरण्याक्षो महासुरः । विष्णुना च सह भ्रात्रा सच्छलैर्देत्यवैरिभिः
devaiśca ghātito vīro hiraṇyākṣo mahāsuraḥ | viṣṇunā ca saha bhrātrā sacchalairdetyavairibhiḥ
Pahlawan asura agung Hiraṇyākṣa telah dibunuh oleh para Dewa—oleh Viṣṇu juga, bersama saudaranya—melalui helah dan siasat perang, sebagai musuh kaum Daitya.

It underscores that adharma, even when embodied by a powerful Asura, is ultimately checked by the cosmic order upheld by divine forces; in Shaiva understanding, such order is sustained under the supreme sovereignty of Pati (Śiva), while other deities act within that dharmic governance.
Though the verse names Viṣṇu and the Devas, the Yuddhakhaṇḍa setting reinforces the Purāṇic principle that all divine functions operate under the supreme reality of Śiva; devotion to the Liṅga (Saguna Śiva) is presented elsewhere in the Rudrasaṃhitā as the stabilizing center that grants inner victory over asuric tendencies like pride and violence.
A practical takeaway is to cultivate dharmic discernment (viveka) through japa of the Pañcākṣarī—“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”—and to steady the mind with Tripuṇḍra (bhasma) and Rudrākṣa as reminders to conquer inner enemies rather than merely reacting outwardly.
